God called last night. I do not
call Him anymore. But when
my phone rang, I knew who
called before YHWH appeared
on the caller ID. I picked up
and said, "Adonai, how are you?"
He said, "I neither am nor am not."
Typical Adonai, so I said,
"That's nice, how's the weather?"
And He said, "The weather is fair."
And so I said, "That's nice."
And a long silence came upon us.
Then, He said: "Where are you?"
And I said, "Here I am.
What do you want?"
And He said, "I'm upset and
I wanted to talk about it."
So, we talked about Israel.
There are no chosen people anymore,
only sad gods, villains, and silence.
All the myth we built is for naught:
It's happening again, again.
But as I told Adonai: "Sometimes,
we just don't know how to behave."
