Something there is that doesn't love a war. Hospitals burn, and their insides burn also. Al-Dalou is among these sacred viscera, burning. But the bombs don't quit, and the fire is expanding. And fires do not care for innocence or reason. Nothing there is to stop the rage expanding. Al-Dalou, Sha'ban, is among the martyrs burning. Last September, he started university. He is young. Days before, he survived another bombing. Not this one. Attached to his veins are still the intravenous tubes now burning. Left is his brother who watches his mother and him burn up. On the places the war is broadcast live, we see them die, too. Under the ash and rubble, we know there is more we fail to witness. — for Sha'ban al-Dalou & his mother.
